General Introduction:
ZWV is a natural product harmless to the environment. Its performance in terms of speed of fire suppression exceeds an order of magnitude of 10 in relation to traditional 6% AFFF foam according to the test results.
A blend of rigorously processed distillates from selected crops, ZW-V has a demonstrated unique performance in suppressing fires as well as preventing fires through the combined action of its various components.
The halogens molecular chains of ZW-V, when used in fire suppression, break into halogenate radicals which then interfere with the burning reactions, either slow them down or stop them entirely. The phosphates and lecithoids contents create secondary phosphates chains under high temperature in the form of a protective film around the burning matter, thus blocking the oxygen and stopping flame spread. Inorganic salts and acids also create a protective film and generate carbon dioxide which further contributes to the fire suppression. Further chemicals in ZW-V, such as phosphates, potash, fatty acids, foaming agents (saponin, albumen), fibrin also provide active fire prevention.
ZW-V main feature is to change the flammability and literally to suffocate the fire. The product interacts with the burning matter to restrain the heat transfer and, stopping the volatilization of the burning materials, effectively turns a flammable material into a non-flammable one. The effectiveness of the ZW-V in fire prevention can be measured by the modification of the flash point and ignition point of oil products before and after treatment with ZW-V. The performance of the ZW-V is consistent in small, medium and large fires in a wide range of circumstances (oil fields, oil tanks, ships, chemical facilities, buildings). Its speed of action is about ten times or more greater than that of traditional fire fighting techniques. By its fire prevention properties, ZW-V impedes re-ignition and thus protects the fire fighters. Tests on ZW-V conducted in Denmark by the National Shipping Committee and the Fire Protection School are available on request and have earned ZW-V the nickname of ¡°magic water¡±.
ZW-V is non-corrosive and innocuous to all life forms. It does not pollute in any way, it is made of natural products and it is environmentally friendly. With its extraordinary performance and long lasting benefits, ZW-V fills well a very large gap in the arsenal of fire fighting resources.
